The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum’s collection started with a small step- one artifact, a lion goddess statue better known as a Sekhmet. You can now experience a showcase of over 4,000 authentic ancient Egyptian artifacts. Every year, more than 100,000 guests visit, including over 26,000 students.
Rock-cut tomb Replica
The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum has created a real-life experience of being part of an excavation by making a replica of an ancient rock-cut tomb. It was made life-like through thorough research based on sketches and photos that were documented during expeditions to the Beni Hasan tombs, an ancient Egyptian cemetery. Inspiration has also been taken from an ancient funerary text- The Book of the Dead.
The Rosicrucian Alchemy Exhibit
The Rosicrucian Alchemy Exhibit was inaugurated as a celebration of the Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis’s (AMORC) 100th anniversary. The space was originally used to showcase the Rotating Exhibits Gallery, but it was converted to display the collection’s highlights in 2015.
Since the museum believes in educating through experience, visitors are taken on a seven stage journey to better understand the alchemical process. It also includes a meditation chamber and a full-size representation of an alchemist’s workshop.
The museum also holds many hidden artifacts that are not available for public viewing, one being a 1.5 million year old stone hand ax.
The Egyptian Museum charges a nominal fee at the entrance and operates from 9 am to 5 pm from Wednesday to Friday and 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. However, before you visit, it’s best to confirm details through their website in case of any updates or changes.

The theater is situated on the land of the Old Hoover Middle School campus which is a city landmark. The auditorium underwent a $6 million renovation before it was inaugurated in 2004.
